Terms and Conditions

Reservations & Deposits:
To secure a booking, a deposit to the value of the first night stay will be required at least 14 days prior to arrival. If a deposit is not paid within 14 days before arrival, your reservation will not be guaranteed - Your room(s) may automatically be re-sold. Deposits can be paid over the phone or online by Credit/Debit Card. Deposits may be paid by cheque. Deposits paid by cheque must reach us no less than 14 days prior to your stay. When you arrive at Northern Star, the balance (if any) must be paid in full. Payments can be made by Credit/Debit Card or Cash. We do not accept cheques as payment in person. The person making the booking is responsible for all costs involved in the reservation, including when booking extra rooms for friends/family & groups, including any case where extra charges are made. (see below) We do not allow children under 18 to stay. Your booking may be cancelled and treated as Non-Arrival (see below) if you arrive with any child under 18 years old.
Northern Star and all of our rooms are non-smoking! (see below)

Cancellation:
Deposits on any cancellations less than 14 days prior to arrival will not be refunded. If payments greater than the deposit amount have been made, these will be refunded, less a £5 admin fee. Any cancellations more than 14 days prior to arrival will receive a full refund, less a £5 admin fee.
Should you decide to check out early or decrease your length of stay on check-in, or anytime after, full payment for the original booking must be made and no refunds will be given.

Non-Arrival:
No refunds will be made. Any outstanding payment for the original booking will be taken from the Credit/Debit Card supplied when the booking was made.

Arrival & Departure:
Check-In & Rooms are available from 3.00pm. Earlier check-in may be available, please call to discuss this. Check-Out on day of departure is 11.00am. Rooms still occupied after 1.00pm will be charged the rate for the next full night. You may leave luggage with us if you arrive before check-in and your room is not available. You may also leave luggage with us after check-out for collection later. We do not charge for this service, but is subject to availability.

Smoking:
Smoking is not permitted in any part of the building. There is an area at the front of the building with ashtrays where smoking is allowed. Anybody smoking in any part of the building will be asked to leave immediately. (see below)

Our Property:
We will charge you the full cost of replacing or repairing any Hotel Property you lose or damage however this is caused. If you notice any damage or missing items from the hotel, please inform us immediately. (Minimum Charge: £50)
NOTE:
In the unfortunate event that you soil the bed or spill any food/drinks, a charge of £50 will automatically be debited from your credit/debit card to cover the cost of replacement quilt and pillows, and for separate washing of the bedding and professional cleaning of the mattress. If excess cleaning is required in your room, you will automatically be charged a minimum of £20.

Payment:
Any balance due must be paid in full on arrival. Any other money owing must be paid before departure. If you fail to do so, we will take any action necessary to recover any money due including legal costs. We reserve the right to charge your Credit/Debit card without further request if necessary. Your payment covers you and any companion(s) booked. Non-Guests are not allowed in any room you are responsible for. If non-guests stay overnight, they will be charged £25 per person. Non-guests may use the bar/lounge area if accompanied by you.

Credit/Debit Card Details:
We do not hold or store any credit/debit card details on our property. All card payments for reservations (online or by phone) are handled by 'Stripe' (stripe.com) your details are stored and processed securely by stripe.

Deposit:
Deposits will not be refunded for any reason. They may be transferred as credit to an alternative booking.

Before Arrival:
Please do not travel if you are feeling unwell, have any symptoms, or suspect you have the virus. If you can not come, please let me know – You will be issued a credit note for your deposit.

When You Arrive:
On arrival, one person from your booking/party my enter the reception area to check in, other guests will be asked to wait in the entrance hall. They can then enter when check-in is complete. I encourage guests to use hand sanitizer (provided at the entrance and reception). Although not mandatory, I encourage guests to wear masks/face coverings while in common areas of the building. Please allow other guests to leave the building before you enter and always allow other guests downstairs before you proceed up, leaving plenty of space to pass in halls and on landings.

Cleaning:
I am putting extra effort into cleaning all public and high traffic areas. Extra attention being paid to door handles, and banisters. Hand sanitizer is available at the entrance and reception. Please use this before and after entering. During your stay, your room will not be serviced. If you need any extra supplies for your room, you can call, or text and I will deliver these to your room for you. I ask that you put all of your rubbish into bins provided in your room, and if needed put your full bin bags into the bins in reception where fresh bags are available.

If you feel unwell:
If you become unwell while at northern star, you must let me know as soon as possible so that your options can be discussed. If you need to stay longer for isolation purposes, this must be at your own expense, refunds will not be given for early check out in this case. Your details may be passed on to NHS track and trace team in the event of yourself or another guest testing positive for the virus.

Breakfast:
Currently I will not be serving cooked breakfast in the dining room, it would not be possible to maintain social distancing. Instead I will be providing a breakfast box to your room each morning (8:30am Mon-Fri & 9am Sat-Sun) consisting of orange juice, croissant/pain-au-chocolate with jam and butter, cereal bar, extra tea/coffee sachets and a hot breakfast sandwich (bacon/sausage – vegetarian/vegan alternatives available). I will ask for your breakfast preferences on check-in. If you require your breakfast earlier or later, this is possible without a sandwich and can be collected the previous night.

Bar:
The bar is currently closed as it would not be possible to maintain social distancing. It may be possible to order drinks to take to your room – please ask about this on arrival (Available from August)

While you are in Blackpool:
Please always respect other people’s personal space and maintain a distance of at least 2m. Although most attractions are now open, most paid attractions require pre-booking along with some bars and restaurants at busy times – please make sure to call ahead or visit their website to avoid disappointment. Face masks/coverings are mandatory on all public transport including local busses and trams. Face masks are also required in some attractions/venues. Please check before arrival. We have disposable face masks and gloves available to purchase if you forget yours or need more.

Check Out:
When you check out, please pop your keys in the slot on the reception desk. Please bring any rubbish bags to reception for disposal.

Safety of myself and my guests is my top priority. Northern Star has friendly and calm atmosphere while still adhering to government advice and guidelines. I hope that you have an enjoyable and safe time in Blackpool.
